SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 2, 2001--Silicon Perspective Corporation® (SPC), the leading supplier of IC design tools for full-chip silicon prototypes, today became a member of the EDA Ambassador Program sponsored by Virtual Silicon Technology, Inc. This partnership gives SPC access to Virtual Silicon's extensive IP database, so SPC engineers can assist customers that use this IP.

SPC's First Encounter® prototyping solution enables designers to quickly evaluate the physical feasibility of their largest designs early in the design cycle, before and during RTL design. SPC's First Encounter creates a full-chip prototype using a combination of intellectual property (IP) components or macros, RTL code and gates. Virtual Silicon is a key provider of the IP components used by the chip designers.
